Friday Jun 12th, 2009 @730pm Trail-Way Speedway  Well the weather held and we got to race!! A great start to the season. The car ran real well and strong with plenty of power. We had to start in rear in our heat since we missed the first races of the year. 7 cars scheduled, finished 5th after trying for several laps to pass the 4th place car without any luck. Started 15th in the feature and finished 14th. There was only 1 caution in the feature; there were 21 consecutive laps under green. Terry made sure everything was ready and Jimmy our engine guy came down and helped us with the setups. Wow what a lot of changes we made between the heat and feature! The next race we should be back into a smooth Friday operation, having gotten the rust out. The car made it back with no damage so it was a great race….. Friday Jun 19th, 2009 @730pm Trail-Way Speedway  A Friday night at TW and no rain!! We started 6th in our heat and finished 6th. The car ran real well, handled well and was strong. We were scheduled to start 7th but the #59 opted for the rear moving me to 6th. Next week we should be upfront. Started 17th in the feature and finished 12th. As usual Terry made sure everything was ready and good to go. Almost thought we were going to have a fuel stop during the feature but lucked out. The track stayed tacky all night and was very fast. Again this week the car made it back with no damage so it was a great race. Saturday Jun 20, 2009 @700pm Lincoln Speedway   Torrential Downpour just before time to head out at the house, soaking the yard, we went and watched though. 19
Friday Jun 26th, 2009 @730pm Trail-Way Speedway  Another cloudy Friday night at TW but miraculously the rain held off!! We started 2nd in our heat (our first pole start of '09) and finished 6th out of 8. First 3 1/2 laps we were 2nd then 3rd until the 9th lap, went high and 3 fast cars got by. 6th place was a transfer spot so at least we didn't have to run in the consi. The car ran real well, handled well and was strong; Terry said I was very fast especially against 4 of the top cars at TW. It is a lot different starting on the pole not having to brake for the person in front though there is no time for letting up on the pace. Started 17th in the feature and finished 19th. From the first lap under green I knew it was going to be a long feature, the setup was probably the worst yet. As usual Terry made sure everything was ready and good to go. The car made it back with no damage so it was a great night; the 3rd race on the rear tires so we'll change them for next time which will help. Friday Jul 10th, 2009 @730pm Trail-Way Speedway  We started 2nd in our heat and finished a poorly run 6th out of 7. The car was very unresponsive and I dropped back within the first couple laps. Quite a let down from the Heat the last time we raced. Started 17th in the feature and finished 16th. Car handled better and did some passing but mostly remained behind a pack of 4 cars. Terry did a great job of prepping the car and Jimmy Travis gave setup hints for the feature. Car setup still remains our biggest obstacle. Friday Jul 24th, 2009 @730pm Trail-Way Speedway  We encountered a downpour just before the track and there were reports of severe weather all around, so we expected the track to cancel. We arrived at the track to sprinkles. The gates finally opened around 5:45pm. We started 2nd in our heat, 8 cars scheduled and finished 5th. Started 13th in the feature and finished an adjusted 18th. During the 19th lap I encountered; a car that spun out, one that had hit him and I had nowhere to go due to the person I was chasing didn't make it past the two cars successfully thus blocking my escape path. So the 19th lap was our last for the night. We were running a solid 14th having passed cars and had a group chasing me for position. Dave, that has the reserved seats around us at Lincoln Speedway, came to watch and ended up helping us make quick repairs to the car and put it in the trailer.  We appreciate Dave's help!!! Car handled well in the feature and the heat race so hopefully we are closer to a standard setup at TW. Terry did a great job of prepping the car and Jimmy Travis gave setup hints for the feature. The car is back together and ready for another Friday night of racing on July 31st. 13

The Trail-way - Lincoln Speedway Shootout!!

 The Trail-way / Lincoln Shootout. Cars draw numbers for starting positions. We started 8th in our heat, 10 cars scheduled, 7 transfer and finished 8th. Just didn't have much forward bite on older tires. Started 4th in the Consi, 3 cars transfer and finished a disappointing 5th. Couldn't get past the 4th place car. Overall a disappointing night. Dave and Smitty who have reserved seats behind us at Lincoln came and helped out. This coming Friday night is an off week for the 358 Sprinters so we will be back on Aug 21st.
